Beluga

My husband and I spent 3 nights at Beluga and we had a great time! Location is great! Right next to the beach which it was amazing for me , to be able to walk on the beach as soon as the sun rises. There are many shops and local restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. A big plus was also that they help you with scooter rental, so we didn’t have to go wondering looking for a scooter. The hotel has a great pool as well, and you can have some nice cocktails during the happy hour. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The Beluga hotel is a gorgeous, well run hotel in an amazing location. The staff were simply amazing and friendly - it felt like we were part of the Beluga family whilst we visited. We had a gorgeous room with a view. The room was spacious, clean and had lots of little touches (vanity mirror being the best for my girlfriend). The bed and linen was top top quality, this really added the cherry on top. After a month in Thailand, it was by far the best room that we stayed in! We had breakfast daily, lots of tasty coffee, pastries and amazing Pad Thai for breakfast. Drinks at the bar were reasonably priced and tasty. I would (and hopefully will) stay again. Beluga was our 1st leg of our Samui trip - what an amazing stay we had. Room & Hotel - very clean surroundings with large rooms with great views - We loved the very private /mini resort feel , and the relaxed vibe from Olivier & staff completes the offering. I feel this is one of the best price to value choice out of our research. Location - this little corner is easy walking to grandparents walk , and conveniently near 2 very clean dinner places (Koh Kaew & Pink Orchid) & homely health massage (Yoyo) Restaurant & bar - great menu - beef burger & thai noodles are great with Coconut shake a must order from the bar Top pick of accommodation out of our whole samui trip for sure!

A direct access to the (rocky) beach is hardly the saving grace when considering accessibility and safety. It's the first time that I have ever had a "don't recommend" comment in my years of traveling. Pros: A direct access to the rocky beach. However, I wouldn't call it a private beach as people did walk in and had their sunbath or picnic on the rocks too. Cons: I. The accessibility to the hotel is questionable. The road to the hotel is a narrow, wary alley. If one arrives in the evening, there's barely light. We had to use our own flashlights to find our way in. It's located at the outskirts. One needs to rent a scooter to get around and it's quite dark after 8 pm. It could be tricky for the first time visitors. II. Safety is a concern as aforementioned in others' comments. Regretfully, I didn't read them when I booked the hotel. Other than the darkness, there were dogs chasing and ready to jump on us, barring the way in. We had to call the hotel and hoped for the best as it appeared that no one's around in the evening. Fortunately, someone's around that night and came to our rescue. III. The hotel was so understaffed to the point that we did our own housekeeping during our four night stay there. The request for housekeeping was completely ignored. We asked the bartender for new towels instead. IV. The check-in can be challenging. The check-in counter is a tiny desk across the ramp without much space to put one's backpacks, let alone luggage. I was fiercely questioned about my visa validity for no reason. It's the first time that I had ever encountered such a question among all the places that I had ever stayed throughout the world. Sure, it could be a formality but the attitude was offensive. V. The room was old and weary. The room smelled moldy. The water pressure was so weak that one's couldn't quite flush the toilet.
